Source Limits

Data Accuracy Disclaimer

WarScope surfaces open-source conflict signals quickly, but speed and breadth come with tradeoffs. This page summarizes the practical limits of the data and analysis shown across the platform.

IMPORTANT

WarScope provides conflict intelligence for informational use. It does not guarantee completeness, timeliness, or accuracy, and it is not a substitute for professional intelligence analysis, operational planning, or safety-critical judgment.

All users should corroborate material findings with independent human review, official reporting, geospatial evidence, local context, and other trusted sources before taking action.

GDELT

GDELT is a news-derived event database, not ground-truth reporting. It can undercount events in low-coverage regions, overrepresent heavily reported incidents, or misclassify context through automated coding and translation.

Media latency, editorial bias, and source duplication can all affect what WarScope receives from GDELT.

NASA FIRMS

FIRMS reports thermal anomalies, not confirmed strikes or attacks. Wildfires, industrial heat, agricultural burning, and weather conditions can create false positives or obscure real activity.

Cloud cover, orbital timing, and sensor resolution can delay or prevent detections entirely.

ADS-B Exchange

ADS-B Exchange depends on transponder broadcasts and receiver coverage. Aircraft can disappear from the feed, report incomplete information, or never appear if transponders are disabled, degraded, spoofed, or unavailable.

Flight tracks should be treated as indicative, not authoritative.

AI and Derived Analysis

AI-generated summaries, forecasts, and narrative briefs can compress nuance, misread ambiguous data, or inherit errors from the underlying sources. They should be treated as analytical assistance, not as verified intelligence.

Professional analysts should validate AI outputs against primary source material and domain expertise.
